RCA cable for standard HU

Currently fabricating a box for my old subwoofer. After my last car I said I wouldn't have a sub again.. Hmm

QUESTION: Do I need an adapter for the standard HU so that I can run the RCA from the amp to the HU? If so can someone link me to what I need? I've used to search function with not much luck. :worried:

I may be using the term RCA when I should be using Remote, if so I apologize..

Cheers,

- Will

There isn't any outputs to take a feed off for a sub on a standard HU afaik rca or otherwise.

Any idea what adapter I need then buddy? I know this has been done before but I just don't know what I need hahahaa..

you need a high to low output converter or high to rca converter, plenty on ebay or can get them from audio shops or even halfords.

I did this in my x type jag, I got a box that cost £15 and had to splice into the loom behind the head unit to get the speaker feeds then its just a case of plugging the red and white cables into the box and the rest was like a normal setup

I've got this all sorted now, my mate had an old output converter so it was a case of plug and play, not sure how people are claiming the original HU doesn't give the amp enough power though..

noone mention anything about the HU not being powerful enough to supply the amp. but then again it depends what you mean, main amp power should be fed from the battery in the engine bay, remote can come off the ignition live from the HU, but signal from the speaker circuits should be more than adequent, either using at high level output or low level with the converter.
