R27 ur clean up

Recently purchased a 57 plate r27 in ultra red I’m made up with the car it’s well over due a good clean up been sat for some time 80k on clocks no previous modifications from what I can see and for the time being it’s purely going to be a clean up and make right thread fix previous owners bodges and so on

First job after I got it home was to clean the seat belts Case up a treat with some vanish in warm water and a nail brush

After a few days of driving I started to find and feel all the issues small clunk every now and then also a creaking noise when taking off or slowing down (pretty loud) also clove box sagging on one side car kangaroos when taking off but anyway I gave the car a good clean today and got rid off all the dirt and grime build up in all the door gaps and behind plastics etc gave it a good clay and quick polish I’m yet to do it properly

decided I would give the engine bay abit of love started to take off scuttle panel to check drains and found a swimming pool also took inlet top section off to clean up some of the oil spilt/leaked? From rocker and wrapped the sensor in the inlet with ptfe it seems to have sorted the kangaroo take off also cleaned out the throttle body and pcv and hose

As you can see in the pics the top bumper grills are a mess so thought I would pull them out and clean or spray them to find one had been screwed and glued in so that broken as I removed it so now another thing to add to the basket
I like the look of it with out grills from a distance but looks horrendous up close

Then I jacked it up to give it a good look over for knackered bushes didn’t find much really I think most of it has been replaced in the past year or so no play and all prettty clean I did how ever find a snapped spring that going off the state of it has been broke for some time even passed its mot 2 days before I collected it!!!! Top mounts are also a mess
Good excuse to freshen up the arches and wheels while it was open also found the inner of the wheel drum was silver under the dirt!! Just been powder coated previous owner said hah granted the outside looks well even if the badges fell off on the way home also need inner arch lining

Going to hit it with a buffer today see if I can remove some swirls from someone washing it with a brick

So after a 10hours buff it’s now came up lovely and I’m made up with it 90% of swirls and fine scratch’s are now gone and I’m hoping to not have to do it again for a very long time

So onto the interior this morning didn’t look to bad until I started then shown up how dirty it really was didn’t get any before pictures but it looks great now
