Petrol cost.

3/4 of what you pay for fuel goes to the government...
and i really cannot imagine fuel prices going down and their pockets getting heavier.

Apparently, there is something in the law that says you are not allowed to charge tax on a tax.

Now then, VAT on a litre of fuel with all the duties IS a tax on a tax??

Sue!!!!!

In the paper last week it had an ''example'' price of £1.30 per litre and it split up like this;

26.0 VAT
3.0 Distributer
58.5 Fuel Duty
6.0 Retail Outlet
36.5 Oil Company

Hopefully they will bring this stabiliszer in. Even if it does mean we're paying over the odds (more so than we are already), at least the price per litre will stop raising for some amount of time. They've got to pay for this epic mountain of debt somehow, unfortunately it's going to be by taxing us to make up for things they can't cut costs on.
