passenger seat problem

ok, the dearly beloved came home today and said that the passenger seat will not recline /go froward in order to allow access into the rear of the car . catch appears to be ok but seems to be not pulling the catch at the bottom of the seat base .
Anyone assist in how the seat works or is it a dealer fix?

Yep has happened to me in the past. There is a cable that clips into like a strut that is under the seat. The setup is the same on both side but mirrored. Have a look on the drivers side where and how it fits in and then fix it like this on the other side.
