Parcels

a rally was cancelled due to mud??clearly a joke..thought thats what a rally is all about..

Great, sat looks little iffy with light rain. Sunday ok at mo. I don't no how much rain they need before it gets to lairy and cancel.
Local rally here was cancelled due to mud here last month, I kid you not!

They have a track drier. So you'll see action even with showers I'm 100% sure.

Point being; if a lot of Friday is wet (For example) then Sat will be mega as they'll be playing catch-up to get all qualifying done.

Sunday is potentially less cars as they get whittled down. So less runs however you cut it.

The idea being - if the weather is less than perfect....to time it to see as many of the Top Fuel runs as possible.

THEY are just off this Planet !!!

Ha I'm slightly excited .lol. My son will love it. Joseph may not

I find DPD the best. Yodel, myHermes etc wil leave your parcels anywhere and call it a safe place! This reminds me of the Lee Evans joke about 'attempted delivery'.

My old man ordered a case of wine from Waitrose (12 bottles or something).

Delivery driver just left it right smack bang in the middle of the drive for view of the world. Thought that's supposed to be a reputable company also...

This all baffled me until one day i spoke to a delivery driver who explained to me that they do this as they only get paid per parcel delivered- so they will do what it take to "deliver".

Yep, this is 100% the problem with couriers other than the main ones (DPD/Royal Mail/Parcel Force). They are self-employed and paid per item 'delivered', so it's in their interest to get rid any way they can. I know of one self-employed individual who would take the items out of the packaging so they would fit into the letterbox... Their working conditions are pretty shambolic and I honestly don't know how they manage to make a living. I've heard £1/parcel (delivered), less their expenses running their own car to do the job.

That doesn't excuse the standards of their service being so poor, however they are by far the cheapest way to send parcels, so I understand why people use them. Unfortunately, they give the more well-established companies a bad name, because people tend to assume that all parcel delivery folk are careless and tardy. Not the case!

Ha yodel have just text me to say parcel left with neighbour. I would be very pissy if I kept getting asked to take parcels in

The last one that got lost for three days was sent parcel force. He also lied about where he left it. Because you could have him shot for me Jimmy?:chris2:

Fair enough - Parcel Force are like traffic wardens though - they couldn't get a 'proper' job with the big boys, so they do that instead :smile:
To be fair post office is ok. Dpd is too. Who ever I choose I expect a sign written lorry or van to deliver it. Last year I sent a parcel by my herpes who promised two day delivery. After three days I enquired to be told the lady had no more room in her hatchback but they would try and get it delivered following day.
