Painting replica cup spoiler

I just started doing a little bit of spraying.
I remember reading a year or so ago that someone said about spraying something on the rep cup spoiler before painting to seal it as it seems to absorb paint. Can’t find the post. Any painters on here recommend anything.
Plan was to prime, base, clear coat

I thought your car has a spoiler and it's already painted.

it does but the original painter couldnt paint the end plates without it messing up so i plastidipped them and its bubbled too. Got some new end plates and want to do it properly myself now i have a spray gun.

You might find there has been plastic restore or silicone products used that has absorbed into the material it would be ashamed to loss the carbon weave effect and I think they are nylon the textured finish will not help.
