come to get the car ready for its mot and I’ve only got one dipped xenon.
I’ve checked the fuses and relays (in the main fuse box and the extras in front of the battery but I can’t get power to the xenon connector on the left side.
Any ideas guys?
Thanks
Oliver

If your in Derbyshire or Notts area I don’t mind having a look free gratis Or you fancy a drive to around j28 M1

Sorry let me explain better.
Passenger xenon dipped isn’t working
So far I have:
Swapped the bulb for a new
Swapped the ballast and ignitor
Plugged the dead headlight into the right hand loom and it works so isn’t the headlight unit.
I’ve swapped the fuse and relays
Removed and opened the fuse board and no sign of water ingress

I’ve poked about with a multi meter and noticed I’m getting no power to the 10amp fuse in the front fuse box. I believe this is for (gas discharge headlights)
Strange how 1 works but not the other

Everyone needs something to do on Saturday switching unit box behind the passenger headlight and the fuse board across the battery box to check also the headlight computer behind the passenger front inner guard but that would be a swap out job nothing to test except the pins.

Hi Oliver, I have the a very similar issue which you mentioned above except for me it's the drivers side xenon which comes on then starts to flicker and then turns off irrespective of whether I have turned the dipped lights on or off. How did you fix it yours? Thanks, Frank

Have you tried what the above poster has:

Swapped the bulb for a new
Swapped the ballast and ignitor
Plugged the dead headlight into the right hand loom and it works so isn’t the headlight unit.
I’ve swapped the fuse and relays

Sorted it this evening but looks like I had more than one issue.

Drivers headlight worked in passengers side and found that there was no power going to driver side his bulb. Suspected a wire break so spliced into passager’s hid power cable and connected to drivers side one. Tested with one light and then both but 10A fuse # 12 kept blowing after about 3 seconds when both lights were connected at same time which was weird. Then tried again with just drivers light connected and fault reappeared, the bulb would come in and start flickering and then go out completely. Changd ballast on drivers light and everything worked fine. I think ballast must be breaking down and sending high voltage back and this messed with the relay on the UPC fuse board and also probably shorted out cable and was causing fuse to blow. It’s all very weird but works now. I also swooped relay 1 with 3 in UPC fuse board. I haven’t checked if back window demister is working but if it isn’t I will replace that relay.
