Good! No cats anywhere in the system so I wasn’t sure! Not that loud
Those figures you’re quoting @peter may be optimal according to Michelin for the cup 2’s, but they certainly don’t work for me. The pressures were creeping up to 31psi hot, but I kept taking them back 30psi. Imo, that’s their sweet spot with my driving style.
The problem with the pressures Michelin recommend are based on the Megane Rs, so the Clio is never going to heat them up in the same way. From cold pressures to hot I was getting a consistent 3psi increase, which from experience means the tyres are being worked correctly. There was no way I was going to get them up towards 34/36psi going off my pressure measurements after 5-6 laps, then straight back out. This was for a 1hr 30min session as well.well, this is what happened with my first set of cup 2's, when i ran them at lower pressures (32 front /30 back - hot).

so, i'd keep a close watch on those sidewalls.
michelin asked me to sent them back, so they could take a closer look. later they got back to me and said that i probably ran them at too low a pressure. combined with a bit of 'kerb hopping' that could be the cause of the damage.
since yesterday, i've got that second set under the car. michelin sent them to me under warranty. so i got them for free and i'll wear them out, but never am i going to buy them again. replaced the first set with yoko AD08R's. they lasted longer, had equal amounts of grip, car felt even more stable at the back under heavy braking, didn't come off the rim as the cup 2's and are less expensive as well. the cup 2 is just a tiny bit better when it's damp/wettish.
(i'm on stock engine and stock suspension.)
Cheers Tom. 3rd time I’ve driven it this year........Nice to see you getting out in the car on track and getting some use of it Mark!
Do you have WhatsApp mate? Or are you on iPhone?I've got a vid from the pit wall & your on it
I'll see if I can host it somewhere

Yep afraid so! Sounds like you caught me on video just after I out braked myself down the Dunlop straight!! LolBoth
Was that an espace down the pit straight
PM on route
@peter finally checked the cold tyre pressures today. 23psi front and 25psi rear. Tyres must’ve still been warm from the drive up to the show when I checked them.
Keep us posted on how you get on mate. Always good to share opinions/notes/experiences.cheers mate. i have a trackday planned next monday. going to start with the (hot) pressures provided by michelin. then see how the car behaves and adjust accordingly. just a bit wary to go too low, after my first experience with the tyre.
As said in the text, why track an espace?! Lolneed's someone to photoshop the 'espace' out
for a screen grab, that's bang on
