Noisey exhaust

My exhaust has recently become quite noisey. I was thinking it was the centre silencer and so considered a scorpion resonated system. However listened under the car this morning and it seems the sound is coming from further up infront of the cat. Whats this likely to be? flexi pipe or manifold? Its not noisey under the engine bay, much more from the side of the car or underneath.

Whats the costs of either manifold or flexi and rough labour costs of replacing them?

Cheers

If it's the manifold flexi's that have gone it's a remove the manifold job. A manifold isn't too expensive, you can pick up ones that have been repaired on e-bay ready to swap with yours for not too much money. Aftermarket is a bit dearer and in fairness unless your going to map it afterwards probably isn't worth it.

Sadly it's a pig of a job to remove the manifold, if your paying someone to do it your probably looking at the best part of a full days work to remove your old one and fit a replacement.

Get it to an exhaust place and let them have a look, it could be leaking from where the manifold/cat meets the rest of the exhaust system, that's a far simpler fix.

Yeah want to keep it standard. Cant see any on ebay at the moment :worried:

So take it to kwik fit or someone similar so they can have a look?

Thanks for your help

Well took it to Halfords autocentre for a free exhaust check they said it was one of the flexi pipes that has broken.

So need to find a second hand manifold with new flexi pipes and then get it fitted
