Nimbus 2008 197

Ok so just had a quick trip to a local garage who had a few diagnostic computers.

Says that the doors are registering as closed and the engine immobilizer is working but nothing was showing for the fuel cap solenoid. Not sure whether that's a fault with a car or just the diagnostic computer not picking anything up.

The bloke also was saying he didn't think the ignition was working properly, saying it should unlock the steering wheel and turn all the lights on when you press the start/stop button. Anyone know if he's right or talking bollocks?

It's booked into four ashes tomorrow morning, hoping their kit will be a bit more useful.

I think you need that key card in the slot and hold the start button for a little while without touching the pedals to do that.

Ok so just got back from four ashes. Took them 10 minutes to identify the issue and an hour to do a 'wiring mod' to fix it. Cost me £60 plus I got a new keycard from them.

Seems to have worked and at a fair price so really happy. In the excitement of my alarm being fixed I didn't ask what they actually did but to be honest I dont really care as long as it works.

Happy days

Anyone know the name of or where to get replacement covers for the door handle screws. Missing one and it bugs me every time I see it...

Ok so it's been a few days since I updated this thread. Nothing really has happened as I'm back to uni so busy during the day and without a garage currently.

I've been looking at getting my wheel retrimmed as my current one is looking pretty hideous. Just wondering if anyone had experience with removing and replacing their own wheel? Looking to order from royal steeringwheels but not sure whether I can manage to replace the wheel by myself?

Also wondering if anyone knows where I can get a gaiter for my handbrake? At the moment you can look down and see all the cables, would be nice to have a leather cover that hides that like in pretty much every other modern car...

Fairly sure I've seen it done to a clio before but can't find pictures of it now...

Ok, so message sent to royal steering wheels. I've heard the response time can take weeks so I suppose just sit tight and wait...

To be fair communication was pretty fast with me. I think in that area he's much-improved from stories of old of long waiting times and poor email skills !

Just received an email from jack quoting me £135+£9.99 postage. Not a bad price and says it will be done in 1-2 weeks.

Replied back saying I'll go for it.

And the wait begins...

On a side note, replaced my interior lights with LED ones last night. Fairly easy to do once I realised the whole light unit in the roof comes out and you can push the bulbs out from the back. Was impossible trying to pull them from the front.

Unfortunately, the covers of the door lights in the footwell areas were glued on so now waiting on a bit of super glue to stick them back in

every little helps..good job..:thumb:

hope it doesnt take 2 weeks..what material did you go for in the end??

All round leather. Thought the alcantara would be a paint to clean in the long run and I was going for an OEM+ theme anyway.
