Hi all, I'd better introduce myself I suppose! I'm Iain and I've just picked up a Clio 200. This isn't my first Clio, I've previously had a 172 (non-cup) and a 182 Trophy over the years. I bought the 200 from a mate of mine so I know the car and the work it has done. The plan is for it to be turned into a trackday car and it might even end up living in Germany at the Nurburgring.
The car was a previous Cat D (now called Cat N) write off that was purchased from salvage a couple of years ago. It was written off due to 'vandal damage' which is hard to believe. The extent of the damage was that both wing mirrors had been kicked off, the fuel filler cap snapped off, and there was a dent in the bootlid. So a couple of mirrors from eBay, a replacement fuel filler cap painted white and a dent repair she's as good as new! With it being a Cat D it was a perfect base for a badass track day car.
The car has had a fair amount of money spent on it over the last two years and 7000 miles, so I've picked up a bloody good deal (if you're reading, cheers Matt!). The car has been looked after and prepared by Charles Gates Racing - check them out https://cgmotortech.co.uk/charles-gates-racing/
