Was the oil pump pick-up clogged?
If so it can be due to residue from the cam cover seal being scraped off to apply new when the timing was done.

So the car is fixed and home .

Chose to go for a new engine with 42k on the clock . Whilst it was all off i had the clutch and slave done so fingers crossed now I have a healthy car and can get back ok track with the modifications!!!

I have work in a bit so think I'm going to go the long way haha . Also going out for a drive with a few mates around Wales next month so it'll get a good test!

That's what I was thinking . Plus my engine was contaminated with metal particles

Generally speaking you'll get much more reliability putting in a sealed engine that's never been apart from the factory than rebuilt engines. Makes sense when there's still reasonably low mile engines around for good money.

Luckliy they have put all the cambelt kit and aux belt etc on to the new engine for me [emoji106]

Yeah my other fear was getting the crank repaired and then it spinning the bearings again . Atleatse I have a low mileage engine now too [emoji23]

Bored before work so I figured I'd go out and sort the diffuser out! [emoji106]

Another day another broken renault [emoji24][emoji23][emoji23]

this time the brackets that hold the fan into the bottom of the rad were missing and the fan wore through and made a nice little hole .[emoji867]

all fixed now managed to pick a rad up for £45
