moving threads

when a thread is moved to a more appropriate sub-forum, can we delte it from the sub-forum which it was incorrectly placed in?
it looks quite chip shop when it is just left there, with a 'moved' notice on it. and it also negates half the point of moving it, as the thread is still there, it is just locked, as it were.

The moved notice shouldn't stay there permanent.
It should disapear after a while.

oh i'd never noticed

i'd just presumed it had got lost into the second page which i never look at.
do you know how long it is there for?

when i move a thread it has an expiring setting of 7 days

Depends how old the thread is and how many people have viewed it. I tend to either put a day, 3days or a week on the expiration. As said, they wont last long.
