Micah's Glacier White 220 Trophy

Paul at RST will do my map will try and get a GB buy organised Micah

Very kind of you, but I'm holding fire Kev, warranty too important to me at the moment. This would be a nice little addition for any mapped Mk4 though (no, I'm not on commission :tongueout:)

i would tell you the same Micah..dont waste your money on that kit..an open cone will be much better but again, its your warranty..i would enjoy her standard as you are covered if anything goes south...

I'll leave it to be honest. If I do go the induction kit route, it will probably be an Itg! Can't be that restrictive as mine made a decent power with a completely stock system.

The trophy is always going to have the same limiting factor as the 200t with a map, which is the clutch... 275lb ft is your lot! There is a 200t with 270 270...

As some people know, I’m not overly into the detailing thing. I’ll spend maybe 90 minutes tops cleaning the car to an acceptable standard, but always get disappointed with how the wheels turn out, especially with them being gloss black.
Whilst on holiday a couple of weeks ago I was looking at solutions to keep them clean. I ended up buying a vast quantity of Collinite 845 for the same money as a limited quantity of Gtechniq C5 which I was worried I’d waste through some kind of error.
As it was a lovely sunny day, I decided to clean and coat all four wheels. It took a while doing one at a time but it was well worth it. Now it just remains to be seen how well it stands up to the weather.
Some pics of the progress - apologies for the arch gap, it looks worse than it is!

Filthy beast!

Back on (dressing smudged from man-handling the wheel through the house!)

good job Micah..hope the wax will protect your wheels from getting dirty...in my own experience the dirt will always come back no matter what, hence my hatred for cleaning my wheels full stop :rage:

Little and often Micah....

All the jobs you hate doing need to have a few minutes here and there dedicated to them so they don't become and turn into ball-ache you can't then face !

Fingers crossed your now great looking wheels should be less of a bind from here on in....... :sunglasses:

Good effort Micah, well worth spending the time on them! As Pav says, they'll always get dirty again, but hopefully a process like this will make the actual cleaning that little bit easier next time around

Nice Micah - I've got the same woes about the C5, surely its not that expensive to produce that they can't give you a bigger bottle!

Used HALF a small bottle coating ours. Many, many months on, they still only need a foam and a jet wash to get them looking great.

Micah, car looks superb mate. I really like the RS branding on the wheels. And the arch gap isn't too bad at all. A lot better than a standard Mk 3 would be!

They look good. I can vouch for the 845 - one of the first things I did with the new car was coat the wheels (and entire car) in it, now all I need to clean them is a snow foam and a jet wash. Can't rate the stuff highly enough.

I read somewhere 845 is basically the 876 in liquid form (?)......

I think it's the liquid version of the 476, but in all honesty I only bought it as I'd seen a few people on here use it with very good results. Apart from the horrific smell, I love it.
