Low battery warning and battery light Clio 200

Yes, I’ve just clocked 230 miles/a week of daily driving and it seems to be fixed!!
I have no reason to think the dreaded battery warning will return now [emoji4]

The answer was to go direct to Renault, give them your VIN and they can give you the correct alternator with no questions!
The numbers that come up on the Renault parts database for the 197 are either:
- 0 124 425 069
Or
- 0 124 425 039

If these numbers are on your new Renault alternator then you are onto a winner. The 8200660043 seemed to have various Bosch numbers associated with it (0 124 425 109 for instance) which is obviously not the correct on and caused me problems.


Basically, it’s a hard pill to swallow, but spend the money on the genuine item FROM RENAULT and you can rule out the error being an incorrect alternator, and most likely, fix the problem once and for all!

Turns out I've got this fault back on my car now. Had the alternator rebuilt and it was fine for one track day and gone back to playing up again on the second day on track. Time to investigate the part numbers.

Yeah i'll look into it as I've got a few spare alternators kicking around and i'll check the regulator part number on the one that was rebuilt.

Not had chance yet, not too worried about it, will probably get the track day out of the way next and then have a look at in more detail.

How much was the alternator @Jake Snedden? Mine is whining so want to change it, but like you said the part numbers seem to bring up millions of different ones. I know mine is 14v and 120A, but most of the options that come up with those correct part numbers are 12v.....

This is kind of embarassing but a couple of months after I bought my car I started it one morning and got a low battery warning and I changed the battery in my key card!
2 years later and I've not had the warning again lol

My alternator was a staggering £320 from Renault. But as I have said previously, it’s not worth going for a pattern one, even if all the figures are the same, my 2nd alternator even said Bosch and has the same specs as the final Renault supplied unit I put on it, but it still caused me voltage issues!! For whatever reason, only the Renault supplied alternator fixed my problems!

Go Genuine or have it rebuilt by someone you trust with a genuine regulator (if they can find it the exact one Renault use in them)
