Yes, I’ve just clocked 230 miles/a week of daily driving and it seems to be fixed!!
I have no reason to think the dreaded battery warning will return now [emoji4]
The answer was to go direct to Renault, give them your VIN and they can give you the correct alternator with no questions!
The numbers that come up on the Renault parts database for the 197 are either:
- 0 124 425 069
Or
- 0 124 425 039
If these numbers are on your new Renault alternator then you are onto a winner. The 8200660043 seemed to have various Bosch numbers associated with it (0 124 425 109 for instance) which is obviously not the correct on and caused me problems.
Basically, it’s a hard pill to swallow, but spend the money on the genuine item FROM RENAULT and you can rule out the error being an incorrect alternator, and most likely, fix the problem once and for all!
