Locking & Unlocking Issue!

Lads,

Didn't really know where to post this, however my FF 197 has started playing up when it comes to locking & unlocking the car.

Especially when opening the boot, keyless (card in pocket etc) pull the boot up and the car unlocks and opens tailgate, but then continues to lock/unlock/lock/unlock constantly until I press the keycard.

Sometimes happens with doors too. Getting rather annoying. I normally sit my card in the slot in the dash when driving.

No idea as to what is causing it, thought one of the door sensors might be covered/dirty. Car was spotless today for FCS and it did it more! :@

Any help, similar experiences would be helpful

Stab in the dark - have you tried changing the batteries in your key fob ?
Might just be a simple fix.....

I haven't to be honest mate, was still working fine while unlocking from a distance etc. I only use the one key, will give it go tomorrow. Cheers

Which pocket?

Couple of common problems when it comes to the key card:

1. in wallet - card gets bent and the internal antenna gets wrecked.
2. in pocket with phone - phone interferes with signal.

Have you tried your other keycard to see if you have the same issues?

could be a faulty boot lock switch.....probably got water in it

Replaced battery with new, hasn't done it yet so far - fingers crossed.

Still does this every now and again mate, my theory is the door handles becoming pitted in dirt and causing the sensor to lock/unlock car.

When it's clean I don't have issue. . .
