keyless handle sensor

I have searched around for a new keyless door sensor for the drivers side as mine has a mind of its own and now its completely stopped working has any body got any ideas that could help me?There are many about is it one fits all?

I need a sensor and microswitches for mine so please share if you find a solution. I can't even explain how annoying it was when my key card wouldn't work either!

A link to a thread might help but you need to work out what the problem is if it's the keycard, the handle button or the handles radio sensor or the infrared rectangular square fitted in the door panel behind the handle.

Test Logic:
1. If the keycard works hands free on the boot and other door then the keycard is ok although the other handle might not be working well but the chance of all three not working for testing would be slim.
2. If the suspect handle opens the door wirelessly by only pulling the handle then the radio sensor is ok.
3. If the door unlocks when you put your hand between the handle and the infrared square in the door then the infrared sensor is ok.
4. If you cant lock the door with the key near the handle by pushing the button on the handle then the button is faulty.

There are some other things around the wireless entry after a period of time maybe 24hrs the keyless system powers down to save car battery you can see this as you have to pull the door handle twice to open the first pull powers the system up. And there is something else about both keys being in the car I think one gets disabled by the car so you can lock it with the second key inside or something I'll look it up. People put carbon vinyl over the infrared sensor stopping it from working which is only ok in cup cars with normal keys but would stop a keyless car from unlocking the door. The Renault clip tool and software can diagnose nearly all switches and stem control inputs and can send wiper, light unlock commands to check if the input or the output device is faulty.

my problem is it won’t unlock when I put my hand in so that’s the sensor in the mechanism?if so where can I source 1?I’ve been in touch with the local dealer they are asking me loads of questions do we have part numbers?

Will the push button on the handle lock the door that will prove the wireless sensor is working and the infrared sensor is not. There should be a silver circle on the inside of the handle is it sill there?.

The buttons locks the car my key card unlocks the car but when I put my hand in nothing it worked fine then I had to pull the handle for it to unlock now it’s stopped working all together I’ve been in contact with the local dealers and they no longer do the hands I’ve had the car from new and I’d like to keep it nice.i have found a few sensors on line for different Renault cars but they all look the same should I just buy 1 and try it?

OK if the button on the handle locks the car then the wireless receiver inside the handle is working and the handles button is working that only leaves the infrared sensor I'm finding it hard to find out the key points like is the sliver dot still on the handle tell you what, look at this video and see how you go and let us know how you get on.

I found a sensor on ebay which im going to try and if it does not work i can get the whole part of the dealers £92

Did the handle ever work for you because I was thinking by chance could the door have been swapped for a cup door that would not have the infrared sensor I have a door handle here I took the whole thing from a door and can give you the sensor number it should be the same as a mk2 scenic system you might have the drill the rivet that holds the back to the door to fit the sensor. So the foil thing did not work then

I have had the car from new up until a few months ago it only worked when i pulled on the handle then its just stopped working all together i took it apart had a look clean it and still no joy.What ive done is found a unit on ebay for £20 which looks all the same if it dont work il just order the whole unit from dealers its £92 from france

I found a sensor on ebay after weeks of searching some off the part numbers was the same it was for the N/S/R door on a renault espace i took a chance on it for £14 delivered. I did get round to swapping it today and to my amazement its works so happy.

Cool so the infrared sensor you had to change on the door handle mount is that right?

Yes that is
the one they are sided though that 1 is for the passenger side

My issue with my door handles is the small round metal dot in the handle and watching the video above has just saved me an issue so metal aluminium tape is on the list
