Joe's LY Clio 200

Just wait for the pops and bangs once you change the manifold, will have you grinning on every drive no matter how boring, if you’re into that! Makes me miss my old one sometimes, but motorways are no longer deafening.

Yes so I've read, saw a video on YouTube where a guy had toyo with a custom backbox and it was popping like crazy, all be it with a decat, but no custom crackle/pops and bangs map! Every upshift its popping, I love it, being young I want it as loud as possible.

Will I need a map pretty soon as I'll have only centre cat left? My flatspot is hardly there at the moment.

A trip to rentech later and the exhaust manifold is off with the toyo on, sounds so much nicer without it blowing. The pops and crackles and everything is just I wanted. Also fitted the lower engine mount and upper engine torque, which completely changes the way the car drives imo, gear changes are completely different, so smooth and no engine movement is a world of difference. Small vibrations will wear off eventually.20210118_154333.jpg

I read that the toyo wouldn't bring up the emissions light as the main cat still in place, but i popped up as soon as i got in the car and hasn't gone off. 20210121_171553.jpg
Any excuse for a visit to Engine Dynamics though .

Bought some iron out for the bodywork and tiger sealent for this weekend when the old man and I will fit the carbon tips. Rentech couldn't fit them unfortunately.

Speaking of carbon, ordered carbon effect door handles off eBay & got in touch with Matt at Carbon Skins (thanks to @burrellbloke for the recommendation) and he is going to make carbon door bullets with Lamborghini lime green writing, to match my calipers which I'm very excited about. Lets hope these 4 weeks go quick.

Been back and forth with Andy from Engine Dynamics and car is booked in on the 25th for a remap. Tenner to the closest bhp guess, entrees before the 24th of Feb :thumb:

Passenger dipped beam had gone on Thursday so replaced it today, thought i'd try my luck at replacing bulb without taking the bumper or the light out, so removed battery covers and air intake to get some more room for my hand.20210213_145009.jpg
I made the mistake of putting the bulb in without connecting it back to the electrics, took me 10 minutes to realise I couldn't put the electrics back in with just a sense of feel, so bulb out again, connected to the electrics and in it went, 20 minutes and sore hands later, lights are working.

Did the typical wash today as well but gave the wheels a go with Iron out and they were caked in fall out.20210214_142805.jpg

Non-related clio stuff but helping the old man rebuild his 86' phase 3 Dutton kit car he built when he was 17, can remember drifting around roundabouts in it when i was 8! Will be wrapped Kawasaki Green as always  family colour. 20210214_150015.jpg

Very exciting Saturday, these arrived in the post this morning.20210220_114426.jpg
Absolutely quality work from Matt at Carbon Skins, cracking job. Here is a photo of the bullets on the car.20210220_132930.jpg
Buzzing with how they've turned out, believe the green is a tiny bit off my caliper colour but i'm not that fussed, they're beautiful.

Also had some GT lights come early this week from eBay as I missed out on a set on RenBreakers, bought a fog light harness from Brad Brown on Facebook & a red fog bulb and they turned up yesterday. Massive shoutout to @Addison for the huge help with the harness and bulb. Legend.20210220_144903.jpg
Also got the chance to clean behind the lights.20210220_144910.jpg
Halfway photo.20210220_145644.jpg
Look much more modern in my opinion.20210220_151243.jpg
& the finish product, look.

Tenner still for grabs for whoever can guess the nearest BHP when I pop up to Engine Dynamics on Thursday, 199/198/196 are taken. :thumb:

Fitted an ITG panel filter today to get rid of the paper one before my remap tomorrow. 20210224_155425.jpg
Massive schoolboy error! I didn't check what was in there before I ordered it, and too my absolute disbelief I found this in there.20210224_160614.jpg
Bloke I bought it from said the whole car was stock! Either he never had the car serviced or just forgot it was there. Anyways, Ktec one back in the garage as a spare if necessary.

What am I looking to get out of my remap with ED tomorrow? Anyone shed some light that'd be class.

When K-tec did my remap last year I had a new exhaust put on at the same time. I asked them to map out any flat spots to make the power delivery as smooth as possible.

What you're looking at getting is driveability, power wise you won't gain much peak number wise (unless it was really running crap). But peak number is not the whole picture, it's about the graph, the smoothness etc.

Many people have gained a lot of driveability, if you have flatspots they can be reduced, also it can tell you how healthy your engine is overall.
