Jacking

Where is a safe place to jack the rear of the car up? need to do some inspecting today lol and take off tailpipe trims!

i usually use under the rear trailing arm where the spring pan is - jack under that near to the damper fixing:thumbup1:

try and jack cars up on a chassis/suspension component rather than sills like some tyre fitters do.... lol.

the sills are alright if you use the jacking points and a rubber saddle on the jack

cheers guys, all done now cleaned my wheels while i had them off and there terrible! there peeling and now look awful, wish i left them dirty

the sill joint is kind of alright, if you really need to. but not the actual sill, i wouldn't do it on my car anyway....

just cause a manufacturer would do it there, doesn't mean it's right.
my dad used to sign trainees on to garages mate, some of the guys who came through were mince.
as maz found out the hard way, you can ruin your sills doing that, chassis is completely solid and you will not damage it.
