Is it worth installing a induction kit?

I donnot agree that you will loose power... I have installed a custom intake, and i did gain power...
Not immidiately, but after like 300-400km, the car started going better, i have tested it with cars i always race with, and the car did much better.

Custom cold air intake/open cone filter/pre-cat cleared/100 cell race cat/remap/uprated clutch
So, combination of mods still present; on the dyno after approx. 8000 km's with new engine ('the con-rod bearings problem'), freshly calibrated dyno and hot weather (+30 °C temps) - 98 octane ESSO fuel:



210 HP and 228 Nm

Every setup varies, but generally, the F4R suffers heat soak unless some sort of cold air setup is installed, due to filter sitting alongside the exhaust manifold..

i've often thought about this setup but it does seem as if the air has got a long way to travel before reaching the engine,changing intake lengths can effect stuff quite a bit

I dont think that this will prevent the hot air from the exhaust manifold getting to the cone filter. They made the entrance for the oem cold air feed that is useless....
Its much better sticking a smaller battery, and sticking the cone filter all the way behind the headlight...

sounds good

i had a induction kit on my old 172 sounded brill but i thought it felt slower/sluggish so i took it off. depends what your after sound or performance. i dont have one on my 197, i think it sounds good standard.
