iPhone to standard head unit adapter

Hi was just wondering if there is any way I can connect my iphone to my headunit via adapters or something or is it a replacement unit I'm looking at, I'd rather not have a shiny strobe flashing unit I'd like to keep the standard head if this is possible ?

If your head unit is a update list then theres a lead on ebay you can get, its about a £10 and it just plugs into the back of the head unit.

Iv had a transmitter type but I ended up throwing it outa window it kept crackling n picking up bits iv other stations so it became road kill lol!

Ill pull it out on Monday n see what's hiding at the back, that sounds like just the trick, how do I find out if its an update list ?
