My daughter has just passed her test. She has a conviction and three points because her l plate fell off her moped. I can't get anyone to insure her for this reason. Bloody ridiculous, it's not murder ! Any ideas
Found one 2600 a year on a 1.2 Clio 03, plate !Well I'd advise somewhere with one of them boxes.
There are companies that specialise in new drivers also, I used one of these places when I first passed (quite a few years ago now) but I had a box in for a year..
I found that the only decent quotes I could get was with the admiral group (I was actually with Diamond for 2 years, and Endsleigh before that). Nobody else was even willing to offer quotes. £2600 does seem steep for Cornwall, but 3 points on a young driver's license will do that. You could try insurance companies that aren't on comparison sites too.My daughter has just passed her test. She has a conviction and three points because her l plate fell off her moped. should be illegal! It's disgusting isn't it...
Unfortunately don't think you going to find one 'cheap' with the points and new driver situation...
Thanks will try thatIt's awful..2 years no claims plus a coach license for a year and I still can't get under a grand regardless of what car I try to insure. Try insurethebox directly, they were the best when I passed and came in £1200 BELOW the next lowest quote..

Sorted her for 2200 which is crap but not too bad at the same time.I agree with Davinder in that premiums are based on statistics - they don't lie. And insurers don't like young drivers as they are a 'bad risk' in insurance terms - with other insurances (business, home, etc) they set high premiums because they don't really want 'bad risks' on their books, they want to scare off the customer with silly prices. However in the case of the motor insurers, they know that they can get an awful lot of money into the pot by taking on these young drivers.
It's a crappy situation for new drivers, but at least the black box policies offer a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel...

It made it all worth it to take her to pick it up and follow her home. Great day
One down three to go. Hell!AWESOME Steve ! Another one mobile and a step-nearer independent.....
Ive been there once with my eldest ref high insurance; and ive just bought my middle son his license in readiness for his 17th. So wont be too long before i'll have this worry again.
My eldest ended up buying a 2 litre fairly soon after getting on the road; as it was effectively him that was the danger insurance-wise; whatever car he was driving. So he thought if he was going to spend £190 a month he might aswell get his money's worth !!!
