High Level Brake Light Removal

Hi all,

Can anyone explain how to remove the high level brake light from a 197?
Pretty sure the bulbs have gone so I need to get it out to check and replace if necessary. I’ve removed the two black grommets and can see a couple of clips in there but how do you get them to pop out? Pretty sure I’m going to break it if I carry on proding and poking about with it!

They are brass spring clips. The way I can best to describe them is like those bits you get on the back of the rimless picture frames? That grip the edge then use tension to hold in place in a hole in the back? They look a little like those. On the photo below they sit in the outside edges of the bits which arnt visible when fitted. Essentially, with the grommet off you should see them and use a flathead to push them inwards to release.
