just found this forum,after 3 years of owning our 197.

Typical!

Was looking for tyre advice,and as I need 2 new front

ones,looks like it`ll be Conti`s again...

Had a really weird fault on our car the other month,had Toomey@Basildon totally stuck..

turns out bad earth on passenger side was freaking the cars electrics out,it was cutting out when going into garage/underground car parks and lights came on.
fixed now..TG!

The car has been really good for the last 3 years,apart from that electrical gremlin.

welcome to the site mate glad to hear the electric problem is fixed must have been a pain to live with though!!!

as for tyres there is a thread on here and i think also adrian posted a seperate link about reviews if memory serves me correct? but im sure all the boys will be on later to give you advice

Hello to you too! Another Essex member yay ! I had a similar problem but it was a bracket that had ratteled loose and was shorting on the alternator lol !welcome again

Conti's are great, but personally I prefer Toyo T1R's
