Hi guys!!!

Hello!
Im glad to be joining this club. Something different to what im used to.
Im looking to buy a 2008 197 tomorrow or the day after.

Ive checked through its history, it comes with a full renault service history however ive noticed on its last mot july 2017 it had a advisory on worn rear discs and play in the inner track rodends/rack. I belive this car is a 'full fat' cup chassis. However i will check the spring colours when i check it out.

Any ideas on the best place/ price to get the the discs and inner trackrod ends replaced?

Many thanks guys!
Stu

Welcome aboard Stu !

And nearly welcome to Clio ownership.

Where in the Country are you for people to best offer advice ref RenaultSport / Specialist garages ?

Cheers!
I live in basildon, essex.

I do alot of my own mechanics generally. And i have a good local garage for all the jobs i cant do.

Im guessing the track rod ends etc ill get done at a garage.

I live to have my cars in tip top condition so i can get quite anal lol when it comes to everything being just right etc. And having a amazing example of a car.

Ive heard also that putting a better oul in the gearbox helps prolong the life, with some fully synthetic oil etc?
This true?

Fingers crossed for tomorrow

Cheers again

Genuine Renault Elf oil is hard to beat in these g/boxes IMO. And is best changed often - as its cheap as chips and the gear-box isnt these cars strongest point. So preventative medicine can pay dividends. The oil can be had at great prices along with anything else you'll ever need from the site supporter linked to above....

Plenty of enthusiasts who are more than anal about their cars here. You'll fit in well !

You might get some idea from looking at the progress threads; the lengths some guys here go to to keep theirs running / looking / working A1++++

Welcome aboard Stuart. I use Two Techs as a Renault Specialist. Good little garage and it's only in Dartford which is not far!

welcome mate. Be aware that what is described as worn track rod ends can sometimes be an actual steering rack replacement. They're not that expensive but obviously it's quite a big job to replace the rack.
