Co-driver & myself have been practising using pacenotes in readiness for the upcoming events, its a little difficult learning to trust the notes 100% & committing fully, but we're having an awful lot of fun trying.

Any thoughts as to why the pulley would be coming apart? Seems quite early. Harsher life due to competitive driving?

Nothing to do with driving style imo. My car although being tracked regularly is undoubtedly maintained better & driven with more mechanical sympathy than 99% of the daily drivers out there, sometimes parts just fail.

IMO its simply a case of poor oem supplier quality control as with oem top mounts, steering wheel, window seal rubbers, engine mounts, etc etc etc.
I saw the same pulley/balancer issue on a big block Chev engine I had in a car years ago.

Luckily the job was done by a Renault specialist who noticed what your average mechanic would likely have missed, & luckily I had a replacement on hand.

Booked car into AGI to be measured up for the required 'national spec' cage.
This is for a different model car but basically the same design & spec.
Door intrusion bars & front half of cage can be removed for road use when required.

So what are the plans Steve? Seems if I'm not very much mistaken the car will not be very dailyable anymore. I believe new seats are going/have gone in too?

Yep car is going onto 'Rally Rego' soon.
Concentrating on the Targa Aust. tarmac rally series & NSW tarmac rallysprint series.
Have a new trailer coming soon & a new SUV tow car.

Some new additions in the conversion to full time track car...

Cobra Evolution-Pro race seats.

Saved 15kg per seat over the oem Recaros., yep that's a 30kg saving!
Made my own alloy mounts with Cobra sliders & fitted seats 50mm lower than recaros.

Have one these fitted as well. The gap in side head restraint is good thing for eliminating a blind spot as with seats that just have a solid sides. Looking for a second hand one for the passenger. Noticed you've still kept the use of the original belts.

Fitted suede flat bottomed 330mm wheel.
Now 20mm closer to the driver thanks to a quick release hub, also helps when getting in & out of seat.
Retained the use of the cruise control too.
