After the monsoon weve just had here, i have finally given in to the fact that my front tyres are sh@gged and i need some new ones.

So, what are people's recommendations (bearing in mind winter is here), personal preference etc.

I dont do much motorway driving and the car is only used for pleasure (no commuting)

Depends on what you want to spend.

Personally like you say winter is coming up.....id be looking at what i have now again, contisports. Exaltos are obv very good option. Both high end tyres.

Oh no its the dreaded tyre thread again, let the war of words begin... Lol

I say go with Hankooks but only cos that what I currently have. I had Toyo's on last winter, which although a handfull and had crap stopping distance, they were fun.

Lots of people will tell you that anything other than a conti is a ditch finder, I do have to point out at this point that no tyre is a ditch finder its the monkey behind the wheel who don't respect the conditions who find the ditch.

lol, have there been loads of threads? i should of had a search through tbh but i coudn't be bothered lol.

I hear a lot of good things about hankooks.

Loads of threads mate, mostly divided between the loyal OEM brigade and the aftermarket army, outright civil war....

Joking aside, just wait for all the replys and make your own mind up. Best way really

Im currently trying out toyo r1r's. Very good..inc in the wet. Running these daily and for track.
But only good up to -9. Which might not suit your bonny land...

Depending which side of the battle line you wana be the Hankooks or Conti's would be good choices. I say conti's IMO but have never tried Hankooks.

:jedi:

Interesting you guys stick with the conti's as according to their website not to be used in snow/ice and so with winter on it's way decided to stay clear of them.

I've gone with P Zero Nero as had them on my scooby and previous 2 winters with the snow and ice they performed perfectly as they have excellent groove & tread siping for removing water/slush and being a softer compound still works when the temperature drops below 5'c

I'm a conti boy myself, so am biased haha. I've had a full set on Conti Sport Contact 5's on my car for just over a month now, and cannot fault them in any way.

Contis, can't really fault them.

If you want alternatives Bridgestone RE070 - if it is good for a GTR I am sure it is good enough for a Clio

Cheers for the input guys, I've got a price for those bridgestone's that Paul mentioned in the last post and can get them for £122 fitted from a mate so I don't think it's too bad. Read some good reviews about them aswell.
If they turn out to be dogs dinner I will let u all know so u know not to waste your money lol

Yeah they will fit. Tyre will be slightly taller due to the wider tread though which may make 1mph difference to the speedo...

I dont recommend 225's 1 bit!! Biggest mistake i made!! Really change the feel of the car.
