Headunit upgrade fail

So factory unit that came with my car had seen better days and I wanted the newer version that has a volume knob.

Brought one on ebay with radio code, plugged it in tonight and its like the lights are on but no ones home.





Button mashed everything and nothing. Can power it off and on but no sound and nothing comes up on the screen. Was sold as a clio 3 unit and have seen it in other 200's. Plugged old unit back in and still works, pretty clueless when comes to audio.

Any suggestion ?

Have you got an amp unit under drivers seat? If so I believe you need the amp unit that goes with the head unit. Someone else will bear me out

No amp under the drivers seat

Does this unit need a separate amp to run it then ? As I couldn't get anything to function let alone make a sound.

Sorry but I don't believe they're interchangeable without in-depth mods. I think that new one you have is the factory satnav one.

I have that exact HU but no amp?

When I recently changed my head unit it wouldn't work without also changing the amp. Think it was a Cabasse model though

i think you need a display that works with this one, then it should work,

It's going back so not to worry now.

Ordered a sticker kit to address the original one.
