Gearbox Issue or maybe something else

Hi all, long story short I lent my sister my clio 197 cup as she has been made redundant, so has lost her company car.

she rang me up and said the car won’t go into any gear, the gear stick is rock solid and won’t budge. She turns the car off, waits a while and then it works again. She manages to get it home Ok.

I have just headed over to Stratford from Bristol driven the car and it seems fine - I drove it for 30mins and it seemed fine.

a bit of a weird one.. so any ideas or basic things to check?

could be something as simple as it being tough to get into first now it’s cold.

did she actually try every gear? If so, maybe she wasn’t pressing the clutch all the way down?

My Clio was awful when trying to get it in to first gear from cold. After a change of gearbox oil and a new Powerflex gearbox mount I do not have any problems with the gearbox when it is cold.
