Front damper bolts bent on both sides? wtf!

I removed my dampers today only to be greeted with this.

What on earth happened there? This bolt is the No2 on the diagram

This can't be normal surely. Obviously I'm buying a pair but is there something I can do to avoid this in the future? This can't be caused by hard cornering surely!

On Cup cars it's 105Nm, should be the same value for road cars.
