final drive from a TL4 021 gearbox,

Morning all, I am looking at changing the final drive in my 197 and enquiring to see if anyone has a TL4 021 gearbox or the final drive from one?

Currently on the hunt also if there's a few knocking about.

I wonder can you buy them from Renault??
 
The 015 has the same FD ratio as the 021 and there's a number of them on ebay. I bought one last week. I'm hopeful they're identical and will fit ok

I don't think they are. I looked at the manual for the TL boxes and the 015 out of the Megane has a different FD.
 
021 is 15/71
015 is 16/71

not worth bothering for that difference really.

019, 021, 029, 037, 042 all have the tallest ratio which works out as 4.73
I’m not sure how/if the parts are interchangeable.

I believe the 021 for sure is interchangeable. But quite hard to get and cannot be bought from Renault. Only other option is a Gripper FD, which are silly money.
 
003 is 4.31 (16/69)
015 being 16/71 works out at 4.43 so probably not far enough for me
I want a 4.76 (15/71) because its very expensive to buy a Gripper 5.0:1 for my hillclimb car

Big money for a Gripper, yeah. The 4.7 would be perfect.
 
Agreed. That said, the 015 has a much shorter 1st and the same 2nd ratio as the 200 so when mixed together, it still gets me better lower gear accels.

If anyone is desperate, there's an 021 on ebay from Spain for £220 ish

Surely there is more than one gearbox with the same final drive now my info is gear ratio but must use same internals as they are all TL4 boxes.

All info from 2009 Gearbox manual TL4 just google pdf document "6019A-TL4info.pdf"
