Yup, and Ferrari don't care about the Constructors' anyway, given that they get paid more than the winner regardless of where they finish! So it suits them to have a no.1 and an average no.2, as we've seen with Schumacher-Irvine/Barrichello/Massa, Kimi-Massa, Alonso-Massa, Alonso-Kimi, and now Vettel-Kimi. No other team would touch Raikkonen with a bargepole yet there he is at Ferrari getting millions for being a lackey, and the fact there's even a discussion around him getting a new contract is astonishing! Put Perez, Ricciardo, Bottas, Hulkenberg in that seat and they'd all have done better than Kimi. He has half the points of Vettel FFS!

Screw that mate, put Lewis in the car, let's see how Sebby gets on with that!

Don't forget that Bottas was basically the best of the available drivers to Merc. Without doubt, they would have gone for a Verstappen/Alonso/Ricciardo etc had they been able to get them out of their contracts. Bottas is a good, safe bet - he'll play the obedient team mate when it's needed, and he'll also take plenty of points away from the opposition.

A one-year deal means he'll do the business this year, yet it gives Merc the option should one of the 'better' drivers become available for 2018.

Vettel seems to be more and more a driver that has to be in a comfort zone - give him everything he needs and he'll be happy and perform at his best. Take things away from him, or put obstacles in his way, he'll moan and complain. He's Ferrari's best shot at the WDC for a long time and they won't want to jeopardise that. Hence Kimi being his team mate, hence the FIA giving him naff all in punishment for the ramming (as has been said, it's a big FIA/Ferrari love-in). Funny how he was quick to jump ship at Red Bull when Ricciardo started getting the better of him....

If I was in charge, (oh the fun!) I'd have Danny Ric and his Big Bottom Lip straight into Kimi's seat in the Ferrari. That would be absolutely fantastic to watch.

Even though I'm a Vettel fan I would always admit that from time to time he's been a whinging little twat which in the F1 world is okish since everybody does it. Tell me a driver who races for the championship and never been there...no one.

SV started losing his popularity when he was winning with Redbull and would raise his finger as a celebrating act, and then defied team orders. However...people hate team orders but yet again they hated him. How hypocritical is that? Senna would do the same no? IN fact, Senna would do exactly what SV did to LH in Baku, but yet again hell broke lose and people demanding race bans (not comparing them two obviously).

Don't get me wrong, SV should NOT do what he did and I didn't like what I watched but you know what? F1 has always been about aggressive and passionate racing and immense rivalry especially when the competition was close. I couldn't care less whether SV would be banned or not tbf, all I care about is proper and close racing to the championship. And by massively punishing drivers when they lose it for a sec and bump wheels at 20mph is nonsense and spoils it for us fans.

In addition, I do believe that SV is way more genuine than LH, an individual who would go to the extreme of accusing his own team of sabotaging his races, spin stories, dispense propaganda, play the race card and the list goes on, on top of endlessly whinging of course when things don't go his way.

Need to mention that I used to be a LH fan when he started racing in F1, his arrogance and cockiness though was too much to handle ("Put all of us in the same car and I know who would be the quickest" one of his statements lol). And yes, I used to massively dislike Schumacher for the exact same reason.

haha so he is a CUNTuesday because he moans when people block him, hit him or ignore blue flags (who wouldn't, even the coolest Kimi went there) but LH who in his greatest arrogance was the only driver who missed a huge sport promoting event (partying in Mykonos, sod the fans), who went to the extend of hinting that his gearbox damage was caused by Vettel (luckily Mercedes quickly dismissed it) and who would just not let the Baku incident go but spinning it constantly is cool.

On the other hand, he blocked Grosjean and got away with it (which I was glad tbh as we don't really want silly penalties to decide the championship) but does that now mean that drivers can block? I'm sure he did not do it on purpose but what do you reckon would have happened if Vettel did that to him and as a result compromised his lap? Oh boy oh boy, conspiracy theories, FIA and Ferrari are working together, dirty German etc, the usual silly propaganda.

In fact, if he was involved in today's Pirelli drama he would be crying over his radio and blaming his own team for pitting him early....he has done it in the past anyway On the contrary, Vettel had a very decent approach.

Anyway, back to today's race, not much happened really in terms of "racing entertainment", Hamilton totally unstoppable and on his own league but luckily a few overtakes by Riccardo, drama at the last 2 laps and that was all. Things are very tight now with many races to go, it should be very interesting unless Ferrari loses the development race where in that case it'd be a one horse race..
