Enhancement Detail - RenaultSport Clio 197 Cup in Glacier White

I've just realised something - this is the 30th RenaultSport I've detailed over the past 3 years, so in familiar territory today with a Glacier White Clio 197 Cup.

The car itself looked in great condition, but assessing the paintwork up close, there was a LOT of fallout evident and under lighting, quite severe swirling could be seen.

It was booked in for a single day enhancement detail, so my task was to do as much as possible before it got dark, prioritising fallout removal, then swirl removal plus laying down good protection ahead of Winter.

I arrived at 7:45 just as the Sun was rising in a very cold Wednesfield.

Please excuse the first few pics, I was using my Panasonic camera which isn't very good in low lighting conditions. I changed to my new Sony about halfway through.

First, I gave it a quick blast with my Karcher X5.700 (I have a Kranzle now too, but it needs some TLC so not using it until it's been serviced...)

I then rinsed the car removing the foam, and hand washed using my newly acquired Gtechniq G-Wash, and a Sonus mitt:

Impressive as ever, removing a good 90% of the contamination in a single hit.

Claying was the final decontamination stage, which was required as I still had some visible fallout which IronX and Tardis didn't shift.

I was using up the last of my BH Soft, with Citrus Bling for lube:

I then rinsed the Clio again and dried with an Elite Uber Drying Towel:

At this point, I gave up on my TZ6 and got my Sony out, so that I could actually take decent pics of the defects in the paint!

Drying towel looks amazing fair play. Will have a look at one of them when my CYC one gives up the ghost.

How hard or soft is the paint on these? I want to have a go at mine sometime (white 200) and it would to be good to know what I'm up against. I have a DAS-6 Pro.

I'd say Medium-Hard on these Red Cup. Needed quite a heavy polish and pad via Rotary

I am very pleased with the end result Russ, the car looks so much better mate and im happy it is now protected during the winter months. The pictures look amazing and the car itself is shinning from back to front.
