Engine swap

Hi

I have a phase 1 1.8 16v which needs a gearbox and drives but I have a 2007 clio 197 i was wondering will the 197 engine fit straight in i have the complete car so have all the bits and also is the wiring a big job from the 197 to get it running

Afraid i cant help you with your answer (I try to keep my engine swaps to a minimum ).

BUT: I'll give you a "bump" to the top in the hope someone else see's your post.............

A quick bit of googling and the answer is probably not...

Apparently a 172 engine will fit in the 1.8 16v (using the same mounts), but I know that 197 engines don't fit in 172/182s because of the size of the gearbox. So putting 2+2 then its likely not to fit. However please correct me if I'm wrong..
