Engine running bad

i plugged a reader into my car this morning because it was not running right sounds like its misfiring and this code came up 0340E8 Camshaft sensor signal,Program Stops.Has anybody got any idea what i need to do?
 
you hit the dear did anything go into the belts or alternator check the alternator voltage and clear the code see if it comes back.
