electrical fault help

hi all,

can anybody pleas help me with a problem i have. I have an intermittent fault on my 197 where you get in the car, buckle up, depress brake pedal, press the engine start button....... and the boots opens of its own accord. Its so annoying as you then have to jump out and close it. Has anyone had a similar fault?

Strip the boot lock and make sure there's no moisture in there.

Mine opened the other day when I opened the drivers side door, something I need to sort out.

as said above - check for water in the boot lock etc

Had exactly the same fault about a month ago. Got so bad that it was popping randomly when I was driving. Not great at night when all the lights turn on.

Took my switch out the boot and it was pouring with water. Quite easy to fix yourself, if you can get the parts.
I took it to Renault as the seal on mine was had a hole in it. Swapped for a new one within half an hour. They even topped up my aircon for free at the same time.
