Door trim vinyl

My exterior door trims between the windows have gone very faded, i've tried all the products (wll ok not all) and couldn't get them black again.
Today i was at a loss so put some shoe polish on and they did come out looking a lot better
Rubbed it in with a cloth, let it dry then buffed slightly - no pics as i forgot the befores?

Has anyone else had this problem? did you manage to get them back to black or is the only option to replace them?

Mine were horribly faded. And on a black car it looked terrible.

So I removed mine and didn't replace them. Miles better.

Good to have some pics of how yours come out though.

Pull it all off and replace with new vinyl wrap, cheap and easy, sure there's a how to on here.

Any pictures?

I might just do this and if I don't like it I'll buy some new wrap and redo it.

I did the same. Don't notice them on the black cars so much

My car's white so if i removed them it would be noticeable :worried:
Might get some textured vinyl and redo them in the summer if the shoe polish doesn't hold up

My last resort for faded plastics is now turtle wax black in a flash. It's an aerosol trim restorer which is surprisingly good. It's only around £3, give it a try?
