Door Handles

So I have been working away to try and get an exact paint match for the colour of the Clio 200 speedo.
The grey is an interior paint colour that Renault dont sell in touch up or spray as its an option on a new car for interior.

The reason I want this colour is the centre console, Dash vents and speedo all match and I also want my door handles too also.

The paint code is a Nissan exterior paint code which can be bought online but its an interior for renault.

The code is KAD and can be found easy enough if you google it with Nissan at the front.

The picture and info I got was from a renault dealership but like they said its an interior option so cant be bought.

So now that I have the exact paint match / code for the 200 speedo and dash trims (Not the silver version) I can now get on to my next task.
As I bought a pile load of Mirco switches from @Ianboom I had all the old ones taken out and the new ones all fitted and sealed.

Its now time to get them all painted up, Will have them all rubbed down, plastic premiered and then painted in the KAD Paint code which will match all the interior and wheels.
They are all stripped and ready to get done and then get them swapped over.

They joys of having 2 spare sets that have "Hopefully" been sorted with the new micro switches.

I've managed to track down the microswitch they arrived today, Farnell and RS sell them they are silver contact material not the original gold ones also you can get two different pressures of operation you can check the spec sheet that breaks down the part number code into the options. I purchased silicone potting compound so it will be easier to rework in the future because of the current virus problems I guess I could have got them from the other side of the world quicker.

Top job, getting mine done next week as just had the microswitches ordered. Did you by any chance find the original silver paintcode for the external doorhandles ?

unfortunately I dont know they paint code for the silver.
I spoke to my renault parts department and RUK for the speedo surround and all they done was pass me on to a dealer that could not answer my question.

When I walked into my local Renault dealer all the paint codes where on the wall and I had my original Grey 200 heater vents to stand and match them.

I oringanlly thought it was KPE but when you get put the heater vent surround next to itchy where a totally different shade and KAD matched perfect.

Hey,
How did this turn out? I’m currently thinking about doing the internal handles, speaker surrounds and gear stick insert.
I painted my external handles a few months ago and now the buttons for locking don’t work. How easy was it to change the switches and how do you take the handles apart?
Many thanks

There’s a how to guide with pictures if you’re a member. If not, sign up - it’s worth it just for the how to section alone.

Stripping the handles is a 10min job once you have done it once you know exactly what's what, Like its been said there is a how too guide on here.

For me it turned out bad when fitting the handles. mines has not been greased and where sticking badly so when I tried to undo them I used some force and the thing fell apart in the door. Had to drive to my Renault specialist who had the job done in around 20mins both sides and that's after having to fully rebuild the drivers side door mechanism

Yeah, I’m familiar with that process. My mechanisms started disassembling themselves in the door too, but I managed to fix them. Mine are now Nimbus like the body, as are the door bullets.

I was meaning for taking the actual handle apart for replacing the buttons. They seem a pretty sealed unit.

I’d love to be able to replace the buttons - at the moment I’m using the boot for locking. I don’t really want to buy new handles because I just painted my own ones!

They just pry apart at the back
