I'm toying with the idea of removing the centre silencer or a decat.. would I need to tell my insurance company?

Doubt they'll tell its been done. But it's the risk you take!

Ring and ask them first. They may not charge much extra, and it would be worth declaring it for peace of mind.

Your always better to inform them mate, some may not put up the price at all. But whats the point in paying insurance if they wont cover you because you made a tiny mod like that.
