Can someone please help with what is used to seal the dash again the body / windscreen. I pulled mine out recently to fix the sunroof drains but the seals weren’t attached and I’m not 100% sure if they are actaully the proper ones or where they go.
So I had 2 on the car one was a 15mm x 10mm foam seal here.

I don’t know where it went but it looks like ran along the underside of the dash edge along the light blue dotted line here.

The problem with this is that is doesn’t have anything to bear on as the bodywork is perpendicular to the dash. It would make more sense for it to run along the top of the dash as shown by the orange dotted line shown here.

At least then it would bear onto the windscreen but then what seals / stop the plastic of the dash makign a noise against the bodywork?
Another possibility is that the dash part inserts into the gap between the bodywork & the windscreen as shown in by these red arrows.

In this case I guess I should have a seal that looks like this...

But the problem I have with this is that there is sealant in this gapo that look like it woudl stop a good seal in this area. I’m not sure if it is factory or if the windscreen has been replaced. It’s hard to see but is circled in green.

Sorry for the long thread and all the photos but I thought it best to communicate with photos.
I would appreciate any feedback as I am ready to put the dash back in now.
