CV Boot Leaking?

Morning

I've only had my 200 for a couple months and noticed some grease on the front n/s wheel occasionally. I had a look when having some new tyres fitted this morning at home and it appears there's a leak from the CV boot which is held by a jubilee clip.

Anyone able to shed any light?

clean it off and id suggest you have a split or crack in the cv boot if grease reappears again, or.... the clip was added as the boot was leaking and someone didn't clean the horrid black grease that is cv grease off properly!

Ok thanks, I'm doing my brakes this week so will clean it off and recheck it again then.

What's the prognosis if it is leaking?

new cv boot, a stretch fit one is easy enough to do if you have a tool, or knock the joint off the shaft and fit a proper Renault boot
