Cutting the exhaust to get it off

What have people used to cut the exhaust? I've been trying with a jigsaw but getting absolutely nowhere!

angle grinder went through my standard one like a hot knife through butter. (wear goggles though, safety first n all that shiz)

exhaust pipe cutter !!!

like a set of mole grips but with a chain and cutting discs on it - works a treat :thumbup1:

Cheers guys, I had a look everywhere for a proper cutter but they're only mail order :worried:

Eventually got it off with combo of angle grinder with metal cutting disc and jigsaw with metal blade. The jig saw got through it alright once the angle grinder had got things sorted.

Quick note though, don't follow akrapovic's removal guide. Unbolt it from the cat and other support before cutting, its impossible to cut the upper side of the pipe before doing this!

Not impossible using proper exhaust pipe cutters.

Ah yea, im sure with the right tools its fine. The akrapovic instructions actually tell you to use an angle grinder or jigsaw which is definitely not possible without unbolting the can joint etc. first

Fantastic! :thumbup1:

General all round upgrade from standard, most impressed by the performance though as I never expected to feel any difference.

Its an amazing exhaust!! I tell everyone it makes such a good difference on the performance side but dont think some people believe it lol!

Angle grinder, STD exhaust is one tuff cookie.

If you have facilities to get the back end high enough you can remove the dampers and the rear beam drops low enough to remove exhaust complete.
