Cup steering wheel to FF wheel.

Going on from dangerdaz's thread. Is it just a case of the following to swap my Cup steering wheel to a FF steering wheel?

Same airbag, you just need to remove the cruise buttons from the FF wheel.

And would you suggest its an easy job to do myself or just get a Renault garage to do it?

Surely putting the Cup airbag in though means there will be no buttons? Do they come on the airbag or on the wheel?

Buttons are mounted on the wheel, should be very easy to remove though, especially if you don't care about them. Once removed the only difference is the cut-outs in the airbag.

I fitted a bog standard wheel to mine while my FF wheel was being retrimmed, FF airbag fitted fine except for the unnecessary cut outs.

If I was to re-use my Cup airbag it wont have the button cutouts?

The buttons are just held on with screws to the wheel.
Just remove them and use your cup airbag.
Make sure you don't pay more than about £120ish for the wheel.

I changed the wheel on lisa's 206 to a GTi wheel other week, took about 10 mins. Can't be much harder on the 197.

so take the buttons (which won't do anything anyway) off the FF wheel and bingo.

Cheers gents.

Will order one when TwingoGeeko is back from his holidays.
