Con-rods bearings / crankshaft problem ?!?

A good oil like motul, bardahl, etc. would keep right pressure and propriety also @ 130°..

What temperature did you see on track??

Its the kinematic viscosity that significantly changes across the temperature range

If you have a look at these 2 data sheets
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pdfs/millersoils/CFS-10w60.pdf
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pdfs/millersoils/CFS-5w40.pdf

And compare the viscosities at 100oC the 10w60 stays a fair bit higher than the 5w40, but the 10w60 is significantly higher when at ambient temperature, so not necessarily an ideal alternative.

You could use the opie oils site to see if they would recommend a particular oil and viscosity selection based on your warmer atmospherics and what the car gets used for, it'll be the same principles we use at work when our engineers select oils for compressors and other rotating equipment based on where the machine is, its duty etc..

oilman on here might be able to help you as he is part of the opie oils team

I switched from Motul x-cess 8100 5w40 to Fuchs Titan Pro Race 5w40..after reading this topic I am glad I did so..
Altought, it won't save me if it's ment to be..
