I have recently bought a Clio 200 cup pack for a track day car and a bit of general running round. Looking for some advice from people who have had experience with coilovers listed below or any other brand in budget.
I'm unsure of what to go for as I'm finding mixed reviews or old reviews.
To narrow it down my budget is around £1k (its a second/third car) and the car will get a proper geo setup.
Requirements are it needs to handle best for track use but adjustable dampening for road use in case it's a bit harsh for B roads and not fall apart after 6 months.
Billstein B14's seem popular but I think they will be too road focused for what I want. £705 (no top mounts)
Gaz gold - tick the box's and I have had these on other cars I have owned with great results - but I see some Renault forums saying they fail? I appreciate anything can fail but is this a common issue with the 197/200 Gaz gold? £1014 from larkspeed (with top mounts)
AVO RT - don't know much about these. Had some years ago and they didn't last well from memory. £1200.00 Kam racing (with top mount)
Yellow speed - Seem to have good reviews but know very little about them. Don't have rear coilovers (separate damper setup like stock) £800 with top mounts
KW - Had these on other cars, no issues but nothing special IMO, abit soft for track.. Would like to try something different.
Not looking at spending AST/Nitron money unfortunately. I have Ohlins on another car which are great so I do know you get what you pay for. I would just like the best for my budget on this particular car.
I have cup shocks currently on the car with cup springs, it came with some whiteline lowering springs which I could fit if needed. (been told these springs are harsh?!) Any experience with this setup?
Thanks in advance.
