Clutch "bite"

Hi all

My clutch does not bite until it's still least halfway up the travel, is this the norm on these cars or is it on its way out?

They do bite quite high I find, my paddle clutch is stupidly high. To test it, park up and put hand brake on, put the car in 1st and release the clutch if the revs drop and the car stalls then the clutch is fine. You can also put the car in a high gear and have the rpm at 2k ish while driving, plant your foot and if the revs increase but the speed does not then then clutch is slipping, if the speed increases at the same rate then the clutch is okay.
