Hi, picked my 197 up on new years eve, was after a 200 but got offered this at what i think to be a steal. Im currently running through a list of needs before i move on to wants.

First things is movement in gear stick coming off throttle so will dive under this week check bushes and gear cables.
Second is only heats up to second line on gauge so will swap thermostat out to be sure.

So far the handling and general drive feel is tight and gives a grin!

Plans for car would be track days as ive never done one. I also plan on a k20 swap with turbo. Ive built cars in the past and understand the costs and headaches involved but its the fun that makes these things worth it.

Interior will stay although id like some cs seats as i have a 4yearold that loves cars and bikes and a wife that has to keep us in check. Exterior would be 200 diffuser, black mask headlights, skirts and front splitter (both carbon) mirrors and handles carbon also.

Wheels evo corso or oz ultraleggeras

Suspension Gaz coilovers

Tyres unsure yet but im sure you guys will help!

Any advice always welcome! Thanks again and look forward to meeting you guys

So in good fashion i’ve forgot to take pics but stat plugs and coils changed after a dreaded jumpy drive on friday,
Throws up “injector & esp” warning turn her off and back on again and alls well. Will take her for a drive later see what happens.

Its all tempting an engine swap sooner rather than later.

Super slow updates as works been super busy, and tonsillitis thrown in for good measure. Had a short drive yesterday which I've missed but certainly needs more low down torque. Still in two minds to go meg engine or go straight in with the k20. Any input appreciated!!

I would keep your current engine until it blows up and then swap it. Clios are really quick round corners when they are set up properly. They do suffer with a lack of power on straights but part of the fun on track days is passing cars that should have more grunt but just cannot corner like a Clio.

Thats true bud had a look through tyres, suspension etc earlier you got any recommendations?

If you are using your car on track I like Dunlop Direzza DZ03G tyres. On road Michelin PS4 tyres.

I have used Gaz Golds for the past few years. Much better for track work than the B14 I had before.

Wheels, I used to run a set of Oz Ultraleggeras until the front track of the car was extended with a Cup Racer front end. My Ultraleggeras had a big offset so now they would rub to much. They are both light and a good looking design. A lot of people go for the slightly wider 8J Speediness and put on a 225 wide tyre.
