Clio 197 Cup project (Racing Blue).

Very nice work mate, especially with the detailing work. Is this what you do for a living then?

Quick question, do the mirrors come off easily? I fancy removing them myself at some point and also spray the trim surround.

Powerflex group buy engine bushes arrived today, thanks @Fernandez for the excellent service.

In with the new, top ones were straightforward, lower ones were a battle and ended up unbolting the side engine casing and attaching off the car.

Heads-up @Fernandez the inner bolt casings were in back to front, fluted end should locate in the thread of the engine casing. (thought it worthwhile mentioning incase someone else gets them like this).

There is a noticeable vibration through the pedals and steering wheel, but this will settle down after some miles, but the response from the drive is definately worthwhile.

You got them fitted quick and thank you for the heads up. It's always good to get quality feedback.

The vibrations will settle down plus you kind of get used to it but the car will feel better for it.

Thanks mate, yes detailing is my full time profession.

Mirrors are held on by 3 bolts, you have to remove the mirror cover in the inside of the door, once the bolts are undone they is a clip you need to compress from the outside but it's fairly straightforward.
To remove the casing, you need to carefully pry of the glass, and compress the 4 tabs holding the casing on, it is pretty easy and just requires a little patience.

Cheers dude, yes I'm like a kid in a candy store, had to get them fitted.

Thanks mate I'l give it a go. Removing the covers won't be difficult because I've got carbon ones and they are simply bonded.

Where abouts are you in Essex then mate? I live in London and my car might need some detailing sessions soon:smile:

Thanks

Hi, I'm about 5 mins from Lakeside shopping centre in Thurrock, I would be happy to help but I am currently booking into the later part of September now, but just let me know if I can be of assistance.

Can vouch for Rob's work Yiannis!

Worked on the old mans Merc a few times and every time it just looks like perfection.

A few bits and bobs done over a couple of hours in the evenings.
Decided on a colour change for the interior trims again, got some alcantara trim bits being added in the near future, so wanted the trims to match colour wise, also match the alloys well and some exterior colour coding thats planned.

Graphite metallic.

Nooooo not the trims it was going so well :worried:

You don't approve of the interior trims then? They had been previously sprayed by someone else, and not very well, I personally think they are in keeping with the interior colours.

A few more bits done on the interior, centre trim and coin holder painted to match the other graphite trims.

Finally got some time to tackle the machine polishing, the hardest paint I've polished in the last 12 years by far.. took 20 hours to work my round 2/3rds of the car, the final 3rd will have to
wait till time permits.

Door trims removed to clean behind and get a tighter polishing set.
