Clio 197 Cup & Golf R32 Day Out (PIC HEAVY)

(All photos have been slightly compressed)

A friend and I got bored and decided to go out for a drive.

Started with a quick fill up at an extortionate price. He spends most of his time at petrol stations...

Some good pics there, I've had some fun with an R32. For what he gained on the straights (which wasn't much) he lost on the corners. pretty matched cars to be fair.. Golf does sound epic though.

Yeh was pretty much the story but oh my the sound of the R32 is incredible!

Great pics mate. I'm a fan of the R32 as well and had two in a row. Good to see both cars together as the clio looks so much more mean ! They do look good with 19" BBS.

My old one :

Ha just looked at the pictures again thinking I recognise the location, then just saw goodwood house which is a couple of miles up the road from me. Some great roads there.

I recognised the garage, surprised its still going, always has crazy prices.

Good pics love the ones in front of good wood house. Good effort getting in there

Ended up having a conversation with his Security guy who was actually a really nice guy haha.

I work for a very similiar type of garage, we have the exact same fuel prices at the moment and we still make a loss on fuel. It's absolutely ridiculous.

OT: brilliant pics, both cars look amazing!

Hope you don't mind but I had a quick play about

Before:

After:

It looks a bit grainy in places because I've edited the JPG, if you do this with the RAW file you can get much more out of it.

White cars plus sky and ground are a bad combination as the camera has difficulty exposing correctly so you get blown out sky and car or underexposed ground.

As you can see the details are there, just need bringing out and a bit of colour adding. I didn't realise the car had side skirts until I started tweaking! (they were hidden in the shadows).

Another tip is to use Flickr rather than Facebook (which compresses the images too much and you loose detail).

Are you shooting RAW?

Looks much better what software are you using?

I set up another Flickr account the other day lost the details to my previous.

And yes im shooting RAW.

I'm using Adobe Lightroom 4, but you can get the same with Photoshop CS6 as it uses the same RAW convertor.

Can you upload the original .CR2 file somewhere? I can have a play around and see what I can do if you like?
