Check Injection message

Hi, I'm having some problems with my 197 ;/
Sometimes it would not start on first attempt. Starter motor is just turning the engine. It usually starts on third attempt..... and then Check Injection message is displayed and car is put into safe/limp mode....
This happens randomly. Sometimes car starts and works just fine...

I'm thinking faulty TDC sensor, but I'm open to other suggestions....

I think the TDC sensor has been the cause of this kind of problem on here before, but Foxspeed will be along shortly and inform you better!

not so sure if a faulty tdc sensor will cause a check injection fault!

i have had a look at a 197 that was reluctant to start and it was a faulty connection to the tdc sensor but it never put up a fault or an obd2 fault code!

best to check for any obd2 fault codes first....

then would check for any loose connections on the wiring looms etc

I had this when the rocker breather came off the side of the inlet manifold, car didn't drive well though. Also check connection to throttle body.

obd2 reader displayed faulty Knock sensor...... Is it possible that the car is reluctant to start becouse of a faulty knock sensor?

I also sprayed all sensors conectors (including knock and TDC sensors) with contact spray but no luck so far...(tdc sensor was also replaced with the new one)

Car worked fine yesterday afternoon no problems whatsoever. It started as it should several times...... in the morning today it started fine but check injecton was displayed and car was put into safe mode....... but now it won't start at all :tongueout:

not sure if a faulty or non-functioning knock sensor will stop the engine from starting - most ecu if they cannot get a good signal from a sensor take a "safe" reading stored in memory and use that to run the engine at a safe level

you need to find out if its fuel or spark

does the pump run when you try to start?
